Location: Remote within the United States

Schedule: Full-time availability during West Coast business hours (Pacific Time)

Duration: 6–8 weeks, with potential to discuss a full-time staff position toward the end of the contract

About Speed Collective

Speed Collective is a full-service post-production company based near Denver, Colorado, partnering with agencies, production companies, brands, and filmmakers. Our work spans creative editorial, color grading, motion graphics, visual effects, and finishing for commercial, film, broadcast, and digital projects. We’re a small, collaborative team that values thoughtful design, technical problem-solving, and high-quality visual storytelling.

About the Role

We’re seeking a senior-level Motion Graphics Artist who can take ownership of projects from creative brief through final delivery. This position requires substantial professional experience, strong creative judgment, and the ability to produce polished, client-ready work independently with minimal oversight.

A significant part of the role involves screen UI cleanup and animation for software product demos . You should be comfortable transforming screen recordings and interface designs into clear, engaging demonstrations while maintaining accuracy and brand consistency.

Between client assignments, you’ll contribute to internal creative projects and explore emerging tools and technologies that improve our workflows and expand our creative capabilities.

This is a 6–8 week contract requiring full-time availability . A potential transition to a full-time staff position can be discussed near the end of the engagement, based on mutual fit and business needs. Applicants must be based in the United States and available to work Pacific Time business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and animation of motion graphics, branded sequences, titles, and other visual content from concept through delivery.
  • Clean up and refine screen recordings, including cursor removal and replacement, smoother cursor movement, timing adjustments, and removal of unwanted interface elements.
  • Build and animate UI sequences from screen captures, Figma files, and supplied assets, using highlights, callouts, zooms, and transitions to clearly communicate product features.
  • Develop visual concepts, style frames, and storyboards from creative briefs.
  • Collaborate with editors, colorists, and VFX artists to integrate motion design into finished projects.
  • Interpret feedback, solve creative and technical challenges, and maintain consistency across deliverables.
  • Deliver organized project files and production-ready assets on schedule.
  • Support internal projects between client assignments, including marketing content, creative development, and workflow improvements.
  • Learn, evaluate, and adapt to emerging technologies, including AI-assisted tools where appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Substantial professional motion design experience in an agency, studio, post-production company, or established freelance practice.
  • A senior-level portfolio demonstrating polished commercial work, strong design fundamentals, and ownership of projects from concept through completion.
  • Demonstrated experience with software product demos, screen UI cleanup, and interface animation, supported by relevant work samples.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects and strong working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Familiarity with Figma and translating supplied UI designs into animation.
  • Excellent command of timing, typography, composition, color, and visual storytelling.
  • Strong attention to detail when working with interface layouts, small text, cursor movement, and brand guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate proactively, and deliver client-ready work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to contribute to internal projects and learn new tools and techniques.
  • U.S.-based, with full-time availability during Pacific Time business hours for the duration of the contract.
  • Cinema 4D or comparable 3D experience is a plus.

This is a senior-level opportunity. Entry-level portfolios and coursework alone will not meet the experience requirements.

To Apply

  • Please share your resume, portfolio or reel, location, availability, and contract rate. Include relevant product demo or UI animation examples, briefly describe your contribution to each, and confirm your availability to work Pacific Time business hours.
