We are looking for a Property Accountant to support financial operations for real estate assets in West Los Angeles. This is a contract position that will last through mid-November and may extend past then. This role is suited for an organized candidate who can manage accounting activities, maintain accurate records, and deliver timely reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in property accounting, month-end close processes, and accrual-based accounting within a fast-paced environment. This role requires you to work on site daily. Lunch is provided Monday through Thursday and Friday breakfast is provided. Responsibilities:• Oversee day-to-day accounting activity for assigned properties, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.• Prepare and review month-end close tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for timely reporting.• Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions accurately and investigating discrepancies as they arise.• Apply accrual accounting principles to recognize expenses and revenues in the appropriate reporting periods.• Use Yardi software to manage property-level accounting data, generate reports, and support financial analysis.• Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts to confirm accuracy and resolve outstanding items.• Assist with preparing financial statements and other recurring reports for internal stakeholders and property management teams.• Partner with operations and management teams to address accounting questions, clarify variances, and support audit readiness.
