Abbott seeks a Senior Director of Federal Government Affairs to develop and execute public policy strategies across all business units, with focus on healthcare innovation and technology. The role involves analyzing legislative and regulatory developments, influencing federal policies, and serving as trusted advisor to senior leadership on policy matters affecting the company's diverse portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess legislative and agency activities for potential business impact to Abbott
• Develop and implement strategic advocacy plans to influence federal policies and regulations
• Maintain and cultivate relationships with policymakers, trade associations, and key stakeholders
• Brief senior leadership on policy developments and coordinate executive engagement with elected officials
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with business units and external allies on policy initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum 10 years in government affairs or public sector roles with increasing responsibility
• Demonstrated success influencing policy development and understanding political processes
• Proven ability to build relationships with policymakers, association leaders, and executives
• Strong legislative analysis, negotiation, writing, and project management capabilities
• Excellent communication and strategic persuasion skills for multiple constituencies
• Master's degree in political science, public policy, public health, MBA, or JD preferred

Compensation: $171,300–$342,700 base
